Blackboard is an online learning community used throughout UMBC for placement testing, course information exchanges between faculty and students and message board communications for the entire campus. Follow the steps below to access the Orientation 2008 Blackboard Community.

First-time Blackboard users
Follow these simple steps to set up your account:

1. Generate your UMBC username and password by visiting http://accounts.umbc.edu.
2. Click on "Create Accounts"
3. Once you have created your username and password go to http://blackboard.umbc.edu and click "Login"
4. Enter your username and password and click "Login"
5. Once inside Blackboard, click on the red "Community" tab at the top.
6. Type "Orientation 2008" in the search box on the left and click "Go"
7. Click the "Enroll" button on the right. Click "Submit" and "Ok" and you are in the community.
