Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
 UMBC’s
summer book reading program introduces new freshmen and
transfer students to academic life at UMBC and to the
ways in which diverse disciplines in the arts and sciences
are interrelated. It also gives new students the opportunity
to connect with other first-year students, faculty and
staff.
You will participate in discussion groups lead by faculty
and staff volunteers during Welcome Week. In those groups,
you will tackle contemporary issues the book addresses
relationships between individuals and groups with different
cultural backgrounds and traditions.
