Make UMBC Yours!
UMBC students quickly find that learning at an honors university takes place in many different ways and in a variety of settings. The students who make the most of such an environment have a sense of personal mission: they aim to get the most out of their education and find themselves important members of a culture of success.

UMBC is more than a collection of majors, courses and activities that lead to a degree. It is a group of people who make real contributions and many students have participated in groundbreaking research and projects with lasting impacts.

Use the abundant resources available to you to learn, grow, discover, connect, inspire and create your own unique UMBC adventure. Discover your passions and act on them. Break old barriers and try something new. You have the power to shape your own UMBC experience.

Orientation 2009 is where your adventure begins. The Transfer Orientation Program begins with placement testing and Course Selection Day this summer and concludes with the Welcome Week celebration during the first week of classes.

Join the Orientation Blackboard Community to see Course Selection Day highlights and sample course syllabi, or participate in the New Student discussion board and instant polls.
