Support the Band
In the past 12 years, the UMBC Down and Dirty Dawg Pep Band has grown from a band of 12 to a band of over 60 members. Today, the band not only plays at home basketball games, they also play at many volleyball, hockey, and lacrosse games, as well as pep rallies. Additionally, the band travels with both the Men and Women's basketball teams to the America East Conference. In March 2007, the band also accompanied the Women's basketball team to their first ever NCAA game. In March 2008, the band also accompanied the Men's basketball team to the NCAA! In 2011, the UMBC Drumline was formed and has grown into a 8 piece drumline. With the increase in members, games, travelling expenses, and the need for new equipment; we appreciate any assistance you can provide!
The $20 Challenge
We need your support! Every bit helps, even $20! This year, we are asking anyone who has enjoyed playing in or listening to the band, to donate $20 to the band. Your $20 will go directly to the Band Foundation Account, and will be used to help offset travel costs and purchase new equipment.
Our Goal for 2013-2014 is to Raise $2000 through the $20 challenge and other donations! Thanks to all who donated in the 2012-2013 season. We brought in over $1200, which will be used to purchase new percussion equipment for the upcoming season!
You can donate online by clicking here. To ensure that the donation goes to the band, please select "UMBC Athletics (General Fund)" under designation and put Band under "Other Designation". After you donate, please forward your donation receipt to pepband@umbc.edu. With each $20 donation, we will mail you a copy of our CD, "Dancin' with the Dawgs". Just be sure to let us know via e-mail (and include your mailing address).
