Theresa Bruce and Kara Dorr were recepients of the Political Science Outstanding Scholar - Leaders Award at the Spring 2009 Reception.

Shane Spencer, a UMBC sophomore majoring in Political Science and Communication and Media Studies, has co-won a health policy essay competition run by the Kaiser Family Foundation. (Click here to learn about the award). She tied with a student from Yale in the undergraduate competition. Shane is a Sondheim Scholar .
