FINGERPRINTING SERVICES

UMBC Police Department

The UMBC Police Department utilizes a LiveScan automated Fingerprint Scanner.

Fingerprint Hours:

BEGINNING April 15, 2012 ALL fingerprinting will be by appointment only.

Please contact PCS Jennifer Dattoli at 410-455-1685 for appointments.  If no
answer, leave a message on her voicemail where and when she can contact you.

Fingerprint Payment:

The only types of the payments we receive are CHECKS or MONEY ORDERS made payable to UMBC.

FOR FAST AND ACCURATE SERVICE

  1. If you are requesting a background check for employment or licensing purposes you must
    have all documentation from the requestor to include the agency name and authorization number.
  2. If your background check is being sent to a government agency you may also need an ORI number.
  3. You must bring a valid form of government identification. (Examples: driver's license,
    Certificate of Naturalization, passport,  or Military Identification)
  4. Fill out the attached form, print it and bring it to our fingerprinting center at UMBC Police
    Headquarters. (Word or PDF format)
  5. Bring payment as indicated below. Checks or Money Orders are accepted.

Ink Fingerprint Services Fees and Information:

Ink printing is available for applicant cards from other states, cards not supported by LiveScan software,
and FBI-only background checks at a cost of $10 per card.  All cards must be provided by the applicant.
If your background check is being processed by Maryland CJIS (state check), you must be printed on LiveScan and
have prints submitted electronically.  Ink printing may take longer to complete. 

Hands should be clean, without bandages or broken skin. If you have an injury that prevents
you from rotating your arm or wrist, please wait until you can do so.

Without a wait or exceptional circumstances, fingerprinting should take about 10-15 minutes.
This service is first-come first-served. Every attempt is made to ensure the quality of the image.
Please give yourself a large window of time to be fingerprinted, in the event of high volume or exceptional circumstances.
