About the UMBC Police Department Lost & Found Items

The UMBC Police department is one of several locations on campus where Lost and Found property is received. The Police Department maintains a database of items turned in with no identifiable owner. The database contents are listed in the log seen below. If you believe one of the items on the list is your lost property, please inquire using one of the following methods: (Option # 1 is Preferred)

Send e-mail to policelostandfound@umbc.edu making sure to completely describe the item(s) lost (including, but not limited to, the Property Number of the item on the list that you believe may be yours, its color, shape, name brand, amount, the date, time and location the item was lost). You will receive an e-mail response to your inquiry within three (3) working days (Monday - Friday). This response will tell you whether the item in question is the property you are inquiring about. If the item is being held by us, you will be asked to come to the UMBC Police Department, show a photo ID (student ID, drivers license, etc), and describe the property. You will also be asked to sign a property record, acknowledging receipt of your property.
Or, if you are unable to e-mail your request, you can call the UMBC Police Department dispatcher at (410) 455-5555 (X-55555) to inquire about an item on the list.
