FIRE AND EXPLOSION
- University Police will be immediately notified ext. 55555.
- Officers will be immediately dispatched and other emergency services (911)
will be summoned.
- The police will secure the incident location until the on-scene police
investigation is concluded and establish an evacuation perimeter if warranted
(e.g. fire/explosion).
- If necessary (e.g., fire/explosion) the area should be evacuated in
accordance with established evacuation plan.
- The University Police Dispatcher/Duty Supervisor will notify the
Deputy Chief of Police, who will contact the Chief of Police.
- The Director of Office of Environmental Safety and Health will be notified
- The Chief of Police/Deputy Chief of Police will assess the
incident/gather information to update other administrators.
- Chief of Police or /Deputy /Chief will:
- Activate the CRCC to direct the response of external agencies and
centralize all information on the incident and assist in providing
information to be released to the media and University community.
- Notify the Vice President for Administrative Affairs
- Notify the Vice President for Student Affairs
- Notify the Director of On Line and News Information
- Office of Environmental Safety and Health or emergency services personnel will certify it is safe to
re enter the location.
