UMBC Police Department "KidCare" Program

As another service to our campus community, the UMBC Police Department has implemented the "KidCare" Program at the University.

According to information published by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, there are those who are lost, injured or otherwise missing, who may not be able to be identified.

Our "KidCare" program may be able to assist with such a tragedy, should an incident such as this occur within our campus community.

We would like to offer our faculty and staff members the opportunity to have their child fingerprinted and /or photographed under this nationally recognized program which is used by many of the police departments across the country.

For children three years old or less, we will provide a "Passport" type booklet for their photograph and vital information. For children over the age of three, a photograph/fingerprint card will be available from our department. As a courtesy, the UMBC Police Department will take your child's photograph and/or fingerprint them on the appropriate form and give it to you in a protective cover to be maintained with your family's records.

Because your child is a minor, we will need your permission to provide this "KidCare" service to you. Release forms will be made available from the police.
