Investing in Children: Returns and Strategies
September 21, 2007
World Trade Center, Baltimore, MD 21202

The economic circumstances in which children grow up have important effects on their success as adults. In addition to being justified on moral grounds, recent research suggests that there are substantial economic benefits from spending to improve the conditions in which children are raised.

Panelists at this forum discussed research on the benefits of reducing childhood poverty, and available evidence regarding the effectiveness of different programs and policies that can improve key elements of a disadvantaged child’s life.
