The aim of this project is to explore the development of parenting
beliefs and practices among adolescent Canadian Aboriginal mothers
and adolescent European Canadian mothers, longitudinally. The interrelations
among maternal characteristics (demographic, developmental, psychological,
physical), child characteristics (demographic, temperament, developmental),
and relational and socio-cultural factors are examined. We are interested
in mother’s development, her parenting, and her children’s
well-being.
