Information   Archana Ambike

 

Archana Ambike is a graduate student pursuing her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Fergusson College, Pune, India and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Department of Psychology, University of Pune, India. Her research interests include social and emotional competence in children, studying program implementation in school-based preventive interventions and its effects on child outcomes, and application of developmental psychology in the public policy arena. Her Master’s Thesis involves development of a questionnaire that examines teacher attitudes toward social and emotional learning programs. A member of the executive board of the GSA, she holds the position of Graduate Research Chair (2007-2008) and is also actively involved in the Indian Students Association at UMBC. In her spare time, Archana enjoys singing, reading, cooking, and travelling with her husband Abhijit.

 

Information  Chris Min

 

Chris is a graduate student in the Human Services Psychology program at UMBC, studying to obtain his Ph.D in child-clinical psychology and behavioral medicine. He received a B.A. in Psychology at The Johns Hopkins University in 2005, and has done research in attention and perception, and child anxiety. In his spare time, Chris enjoys watching movies, playing the guitar and violin, and spending time with his fiancé Jung. He also enjoys a variety of sports and physical activity such as golf, softball, basketball, weight lifting, and soccer.

 

Information  Holly VanderWalde

 

Holly is a graduate student in the Human Services Psychology program, pursuing a Ph.D. in child-clinical psychology. She graduated from University of Maryland, College Park in 2006 receiving a B.S. in psychology. Throughout her time at Maryland she participated in research and completed a thesis which looked at the relationship between infant temperament, quality of mother-child interactions, and behavior problems in early childhood. In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing volleyball and softball.

 

Information Kathy Bohner

 

Kathy Bohner is a graduate student pursuing her PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology. She completed her undergraduate work at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. in both Psychology and History. Her research interests include developmental psychopathology, particularly disruptive disorders in children and the environmental factors that affect the development of this population. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and pursuing her interest in medieval history.

 

Information  Sean Logie

 

Sean Logie is currently a graduate student at Catholic University of America and working towards an M.A. in general psychology. He earned his B.A. in Music at Loyola College in Maryland and has a M.A.T. in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University. After five years of teaching, he has returned to the academia in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. His current research interests are in the assessment of social information processing in children and the effects of positive emotions on this process. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with his wife and family.
