For Parents

Raising a child is a challenging and rewarding experience.  Parents must ensure children are given opportunities to grow both physically and psychologically. Fostering social and emotional development provides children skills critical to navigate the world they live in successfully.  Children’s difficulties with anger, frustration, or concentration can disrupt their family and school environments. Parents are the strongest advocates for their children and need resources which can help them understand the issues faced by their children.  Below please find links to resources focused on children’s social and emotional development and to organizations which provide information on common childhood disorders.  If the links below do not address the specific questions you have, please feel free to contact Dr. Schultz at dschultz@umbc.edu.
