REGISTRATION CALENDAR - Fall 2008

CONTINUING STUDENTS

ADVANCE REGISTRATION - April 14, 2008 - May 2, 2008
Advance Registration, for degree-seeking students enrolled at UMBC for the Spring 2008 semester, is conducted on an earned credit-priority basis. Students with higher levels of earned credits are scheduled to register before students with fewer earned credits.

Academic Advising begins March 31, 2008.

Students enrolled for Spring 2008 received email notification that Advance Registration eligibility times had been assigned and were instructed to view their assigned times using <em>my</em>UMBC. Each student's account specifies the day and time he or she is eligible to register.

GENERAL REGISTRATION - May 3, 2008 - September 10, 2008
Continuing students (academically eligible degree-seeking and non-degree students who completed the Spring 2008 semester at UMBC) and degree-seeking students who have been re-admitted to UMBC for Spring 2008 may register. Assigned registration eligibility times are not required for General Registration.

ADD/DROP - April 14, 2008 - September 10, 2008
Students who have registered for Fall 2008 classes may make changes to their schedules.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

Degree-Seeking Graduate Students: May 3, 2008 - September 10, 2008
Newly admitted degree-seeking graduate students are eligible to register for Fall 2008 classes beginning May 3 , 2008

Degree-Seeking Undergraduates: June - August 2008
New undergraduate (Freshmen and Transfer) students are required to attend an Orientation and Course Selection Day Program which includes academic advising and registration for Fall 2008 classes. Students will be mailed information regarding the Orientation and Course Selection Day Program.

Evening Orientation and Course Selection programs are available for new degree-seeking students registering for evening classes only. For further information, contact the Orientation Office, (410)455-3244.

New Special: Students - August 2008
New non-degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students may register August 2008 or during Late Registration. A $20.00 late registration fee will be assessed for registration beginning August 27, 2008. Prospective special students should contact the appropriate office (see Admissions) to arrange for their admission to UMBC before they attempt to register.


LATE REGISTRATION - August 27 - September 10, 2008
Continuing and newly admitted students may register through the 10th day of classes. Students who register on or after August 27 will be charged a $20.00 Late Registration Fee.
