Gifts may be made directly to individual faculty; however, grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts are awarded to the university not to the individual researcher.
Consulting is an independent effort by the faculty member, unattached to the institution. Refer to the Faculty Handbook (under 13.3 Policy on Professional Commitment of Faculty) for rules governing consulting.
* Although F&A does not apply to gifts, OIA does charge a management fee based on balance in the account.
