Each residence hall is managed by a “live-in” Community
Director. The CD is a full-time staff member who typically has graduate
education in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student
Development, or a related field. The CD supervises a staff of 7-16 students (Resident Assistants, Desk Manager and Desk Staff) in the community, manages physical facilities, coordinates
check-ins, closings, and room changes. Your CD can also assist you
with personal concerns such as living with a roommate, adjusting
to college, or succeeding academically. Each CD has an office in
the community. To contact your CD, stop by her/his office or call
or email the Residential Life Office. Community Director offices
are located on the first floor in each hall, and next to the reception
desk in the apartments. Check at the desk for more specific locations.

listen and provide support when you need to talk to someone;
assist residents in enforcing community standards and policies;
answer questions about the residential facilities, academics, and campus life; and,
conduct health and safety inspections and assist with maintaining the residential environment.

interests and pursuits. LLC RAs must support the programmatic
curriculum of the specific living-learning floor through programs,
community development, and inclusion of faculty and staff.
The goal of developing a living-learning community around the theme
of this Learning Community is primary in the RA’s job performance.
