Residential Life

In accepting your Housing License, UMBC agreed to provide you with a space in our residence facilities and to provide certain services as outlined in your Housing License. In turn, you agreed not only to live on campus, but to abide by certain rules and regulations designed to provide you and other members of the community with safe and comfortable housing. If you violate any of these rules and regulations, you have essentially broken your Housing License with Residential Life. As a result, you could find yourself facing disciplinary action which, in some cases, could lead to termination of your Housing License and your removal from your residence hall or apartment. For even more serious violations, a student could be suspended or dismissed from the university. Remember you must be a full-time student taking 12+ credits to remain eligible for your housing space.

The Housing License you signed is for the entire academic year or, if entered into after the start of the academic year, for the remainder of the academic year. Residential Life assumes that you have read and understood all of the information contained in your Housing License. By signing the Housing License, you are responsible for knowing and abiding by all of the information in this Guide, your Housing License, as well as periodic policy updates from Residential Life or other communications from Residential Life. If you have any questions about your Housing License, call Residential Life at (410) 455-8832 or write to Reslife@umbc.edu
