- Co-axial cable for cable TV
- Laundry supplies
- Toiletries
- Desk lamp
- School supplies i.e. pens, pencils, paper, etc.
- Small wastebasket
- Wall saver removable poster putty or strips/blue painter’s tape
- Cleaning supplies
- Hand-held or mini-vacuum
- Flashlight
- Emergency Supplies (Visit: www.redcross.org or www.cdc.gov). The UMBC Campus Book Store also sells personal emergency supply kits
DO NOT BRING
- Hot pots/plates
- Outdoor grills
- Landline phones or answering machines (will not work)
- Weights
- Skateboards
- Pets
- Microwave ovens*
- Toasters/toaster ovens**
- George Foreman counter-top grills**
- Rice-cookers **
- Coffeepots without auto-shutoff feature
- Immersion heaters
- Candles/incense/oil lamps
- Heat lamps/sun lamps
- Halogen lamps or bulbs
- Electric blankets
- Electric heaters
- Kerosene heaters
- Picture hangers/nails/double backed stick ups
- Air guns, toy guns, BB/pellet guns, paint guns or water pistols
- Weapons including any knife that is not designed and typically used for kitchen applications.
- Drums
- Amplifier or amplified musical devices without headphones
- Refrigerators more than 4.3 cubic ft. (not permitted in apartments)
- Microwaves are only allowed in apartment kitchens, not residence halls or apartment bedrooms unless part of a MicroFridge unit. (one per apartment ONLY) Information on renting MicroFridge units and other resources can be found on our website, www.umbc.edu/reslife.
** Toaster ovens, George Foreman grills and rice-cookers are only allowed in apartment kitchens.
