Society of Automotive Engineers University of Maryland, Baltimore County Home Baja SAE Members Pictures Contact Sponsors Vehicles The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) at UMBC allows for engineering students to apply classroom theory in design and manufacturing situations, e.g. the SAE Collegiate Design Series (Baja SAE®). SAE at UMBC acts to enhance students’ educational experience through peer to peer interactions as well as interactions with experts in various fields associated with all forms of mobility. SAE at UMBC also acts to increase networking opportunities for students as well as professionals in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The UMBC SAE chapter is primarily devoted to the SAE sponsored Baja SAE® Collegiate Design Series (formerly Mini Baja®). Additionally our chapter hosts and attends technical seminars both on and off campus.
