Student Affairs Assessment and Research

Assessment: Everybody’s Doing it!
What about you?
Student Affairs Assessment Day is a low-cost opportunity for local student affairs practitioners and higher education professionals to increase their knowledge and ability to assess student learning. The program will include presentations by various student affairs practitioners in the area.
This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Marsha Guenzler-Stevens, Director of Activities at the University of Maryland Adele H. Stamp Union. In her keynote, Confessions from a Less Than Perfect Assessment Project: Lessons earned from a Study of Student Spirituality she will discuss the study of student spirituality she conducted with a student. Through this research, Dr. Guenzler-Stevens came to understand that assessment is not only about the end result but the knowledge gained while conducting it. She will discuss how even though this work was never published; it was an incredibly valuable and educational experience.
