Dear Colleagues, The devastation from Hurricane Katrina has shocked and
saddened us all. Many of you have expressed concerns about the people
and the arts communities in the Americans for the Arts has set up a bulletin board on
their website to gather and disseminate much-needed information. If you
have heard news about how arts organizations, cultural facilities, and
artists are faring in the aftermath of the hurricane, please don't hesitate
to submit it for inclusion on the bulletin board. If you know of any initiatives to
assist the arts, please feel free to share them as well. Eventually, the bulletin board will
hopefully share news and ideas about how arts agencies, organizations, and
artists are themselves helping to ease the human suffering that has literally
engulfed the region The Southern Arts Federation
has established the Southern Arts Federation Emergency Relief
Fund to
assist arts organizations and artists residing in The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) includes the Disaster Relief Fund with interest-free
loan programs and staff, prepared to respond to professional craft artists
who have suffered significant losses. CERF has also set up Katrina Message Boards. Statement of Dana Gioia, Chairman, National

provides listings for donations and volunteerism. We will update our web page as other sites and
