Dear Students,
By now, you are probably aware that UMBC is transitioning to PeopleSoft and if you have already registered for Summer ’09 or Fall ’09, you know there is a new look and feel to the websites.
As of June 1st, 2009, when you login to your myUMBC account and select the Billing and Personal Finances Topic, expect to see more new things!
Not only is billing changing due to PeopleSoft, but we also have a new vendor for E-billing, Online Payments, Cashiering and the Monthly Payment Plan! Our new vendor is CashNet.
These are good changes. Read on and we’re sure that you’ll agree.
- As of June 1, 2009, students will no longer need to enroll in e-billing. Students now will login to myUMBC and access their e-billing account, make online payments and sign up for the monthly payment plan all in the same link on the Billing and Personal Finances Topic page.
- Students that created an e-billing account previously can continue to access that account on the same Billing and Personal Finances Topic page to inquire about past bills, but no e-bills will be loaded onto that site after May 2009 and no payments can be made on that site after May 2009.
- Students can grant e-billing access to parents, spouses and other authorized payors.
- There is also a way for others to pay student accounts without a login.
- All payments made online will post to accounts immediately. No more waiting 2 to 3 days for the payments to post.
- The same online payment options remain; credit cards with convenience fees (new fee 2.75%) ACH with no fees.
- Add or Drop classes and you will immediately see updated charges. No more waiting a month for the registration to update.
Yes, the new Billing and Payments site will look a little different and it will take a little time to get used to the new links, but we are sure that you will find the site easy to navigate and that you will appreciate the real-time update feature.
We are here, as always, to answer any questions that you have. Please email us or stop by anytime!
