Dr. Cyrus Azani

Ph.D., Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, with minors in Economics, R&D Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing of Technology, George Washington University.
Dr. Azani is a certified systems engineer and acquisition professional with over 25 years of consulting and engineering experience with government and private organizations in areas such as: open systems development and implementation, systems engineering, program and project management, information systems design and implementation, technology strategy formulation and management, and application of management science models and tools.
He also has more than 25 years of experience teaching courses in project management, systems development and management, engineering management, and other engineering and business management courses to graduate students at The Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland.
Dr. Azani is the author or co-author of over 40 technical publications on project evaluation and management, system of systems engineering, open system architecture development and implementation, open system maturity and assessment, decision support systems, computer aided software engineering, computer integrated manufacturing, and knowledge management system development. He is also the author of chapters in 5 published books titled: System of Systems Engineering: Innovations for 21st Century; Advanced Manufacturing Systems: Strategic Management and Implementation; Computer Integrated Software Engineering: Issues and Trends for the 1990's and Beyond; Managing Social and Economic Change With Information Technology; and Ergonomics of Hybrid Automated Systems. He is also the main author of the “The Program Manager Guide to Modular Open Systems Approach Implementation,” and the System of Systems Engineering and Open Systems Strategy and Design sections of the DoD Acquisition Guidebook.
Dr. Azani is currently a senior systems engineer and project leader at Northrop Grumman Technical Services division. For the past 12 years he has provided systems engineering and program management consulting support to the Systems and Software Engineering Directorate at the United States Department of Defense.
