Invited speakers: Eight distinguished speakers will present a wide-ranging perspective of the field, including analytical results, computational advances, and emerging applications. The invited speakers will be asked specifically to address the first part of their talk to a general audience, paying particularly attention to the junior participants in attendance, and allowing ample time for discussion. The very last part of their talk should address future work with possible suggestions for topics for the panel discussion on future directions and emerging applications.

List of confirmed speakers:
  1. Roger W. Brockett, Harvard University
  2. Irena Lasiecka, University of Virginia
  3. Suzanne Lenhart, University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory
  4. Boris S. Mordukhovich, Wayne State University
  5. David L. Russell, Virginia Tech
  6. Héctor J. Sussmann, Rutgers University
  7. Roberto Triggiani, University of Virginia
  8. Jiongmin Yong, University of Central Florida
Panel discussion: The final session of the workshop will be a panel discussion addressing future directions and emerging applications. The panelists will include some of the invited speakers and other distinguished members of the mathematical community. This session is intended to highlight future directions in the field of control of partial differential equations, particularly focusing on emerging interdisciplinary applications.

Poster session: A poster session will be available to give all participants the opportunity to present work. It will precede the conference banquet, held at the same location. The participation in the poster session will be based on competitive applications, although we will try to accommodate as many posters as possible.
