Transfer Student Alliance
UMBC is known for attracting highly motivated students - eager learners who get involved in their education. A top research university with a national reputation, UMBC is a place where undergraduates have easy access to professors working on the cutting edge of their disciplines. Eligible students who intend to earn their bachelor's degree at UMBC at Shady Grove upon completion of their associate's degree at AACC, CCBC, MC or PGCC will have the opportunity to benefit from joint programmatic efforts, shared resources and other privileges while still enrolled at their home institution. Upon successful completion of the program and initiation of transfer to UMBC, eligible students will be guaranteed admission and a $1500 merit scholarship for each of two years of full-time study. The award may be accepted with other UMBC and Universities at Shady Grove merit award offers.
