UMBC’s
Bachelor of Arts in History program at The Universities at Shady
Grove offers students an opportunity to develop analytical and
communication skills and serves to broaden perspectives on the
past. With an emphasis on public history, policy history and
international historical perspectives, the program is designed
to encourage the development of good writing and research skills
in conjunction with innovative and critical thinking.
“Majoring
in history taught me about the past, present, and the future.
The skills I learned are very valuable in the business world,
and make me a better human being. I highly value my UMBC history
education.” -- Josh Templeton, 2001
