The program is excellent preparation for careers in education, law, government service, communications and management, public history, research as well as for entry into graduate programs.

Students are encouraged to engage in active learning experiences such as internships and in-depth research at the undergraduate level. Students obtain internships through the History department and UMBC’s Shriver Center.
