Admissions Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Psychology -OR- a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field with required prerequisite coursework, which includes an introductory course in Psychology, a Social Psychology course and a Research Methods or Statistics course
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited undergraduate program.

Note: The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not required for admission to the I/O program; however, it can be submitted to supplement the application.

Application Procedures

Applicants should follow the application procedures set by UMBC's Graduate School. Students applying to the M.P.S. program must submit the following information:

  • UMBC graduate school application (includes personal statement and fee)
  • Official transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions attended
  • 3 letters of recommendation

Financial Information for Fall 2012 - Spring 2013 Classes

Maryland Resident tuition per credit: $510 (plus mandatory fees)

Non-Resident tuition per credit: $844 (plus mandatory fees)
