Why did you choose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove?
I chose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove because it offers a degree in Social Work and it is very close to my home. The convenience of having my school so close to home was great!
What do you like best about UMBC-Shady Grove?
I really enjoyed the small class sizes at USG! The teachers were always available when I needed help. My classmates and teachers also became like a second family to me.
What internships and/or extracurricular activities have you been involved with at UMBC-Shady Grove?
While attending USG I had a Social Work internship at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. As a result I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school. I will attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore and pursue a Masters in Social Work.
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
The best advice for prospective students is to utilize all the wonderful resources that USG provides. This includes the Center for Academic Success, Career and Internship Services, and joining student organizations.
