Why did you choose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove?
I work full-time, I have a two year old, and I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in political science. I chose UMBC at USG because UMBC's political science program at USG allowed me to the opportunity to attain my BA at a traditional university while working full-time. The campus is 15 minutes away from my house, at least three evening classes are offered each semester so all of my classes start after 4:00pm, and I have the same curriculum, assignments, and caliber of teachers as the students on the main campus.
What do you like best about UMBC-Shady Grove?
The convenience; it is located 15 minutes from my house. It's like having a college campus in my backyard. The facilities are beautiful and the food in the cafe is amazing.
What internships and/or extracurricular activities have you been involved with at UMBC-Shady Grove?
As a mother and full-time employee, I don’t have much time for extracurricular activities right now.
What are your plans after graduation?
In addition to pursuing a career in the federal government, I plan to prepare for law school by taking a 6 month LSAT prep course. I intend to start law school upon graduation from UMBC.
