Why did you choose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove?
As a Montgomery County resident, the opportunity to complete my undergraduate studies while working full-time without leaving the county was a decisive reason for attending USG; I could keep my job and take classes without having to commute more than a couple of miles.
What do you like best about UMBC-Shady Grove?
Small classes – you get to know all of your classmates and professors.
What internships and/or extracurricular activities have you been involved with at UMBC-Shady Grove?
As a Political Science major and History minor, I had many valuable experiences during my two years at USG; I served as President of Student Government, member at large for the Board of Advisors, Student Member of the Committee for Montgomery and President, and founder of the History Students Association. Even before getting my degree, I was fortunate enough to start working full-time for Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards.
What are your plans after graduation?
I am planning to attend graduate school and continue my career in public service.
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
Enrolling at USG will allow you to have outstanding opportunities without leaving the county for school while receiving the same quality education as students from main campus and even the same fun!
