Why did you choose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove?
I choose UMBC-Shady Grove because it is a reputable and affordable University. I liked that the class sizes were relatively small and that the classrooms were modern and comfortable. I live in Frederick and needed a college that I could commute to and still receive a quality, affordable education.
What do you like best about UMBC-Shady Grove?
The two things I like best about UMBC-Shady Grove are the professors and my classmates. The professors do a great job teaching concepts from the book as well as sharing real life experiences from the field. Because most of my classmates are in all of my classes, we have become a family at UMBC-Shady Grove.
What internships and/or extracurricular activities have you been involved with at UMBC-Shady Grove?
I will be doing my internship next year at Brook Lane Health Services in Hagerstown, MD.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to continue with my education and complete my Master's degree in Social Work.
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
Stay focused and have confidence in yourself. Also, do not procrastinate. The professors are there to help and also want to see you succeed, so don't be afraid to go to them with questions or concerns.
