Why did you choose UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove?
Initially, I looked into UMBC at The Universities at Shady Grove because it seemed convenient. Yet after meeting my program director and several UMBC-USG staff members, I immediately felt very comfortable and confident in my decision to attend.
What do you like best about UMBC-Shady Grove?
I really like the close-knit yet professional vibe at UMBC-USG. I can attest that even the more reticent of students will feel encouraged to participate in student life activities and class discussions. What's more, the daily interaction among a tight-knit group produces deeper and more nuanced discussions.
What internships and/or extracurricular activities have you been involved with at UMBC-Shady Grove?
I will be studying abroad in Istanbul next semester. Also, I am currently searching for an internship through the “UMBC Works” database.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to pursue a master’s degree in world history.
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
Weigh your options – don’t automatically discount The Universities at Shady Grove. Visit the places you are interested in before making any decisions.
