Transfer Credit Services

If you are transferring to UMBC or if you decide to take a college course at another institution once you’ve begun your academic career at UMBC, the Office of the Registrar provides a number of transfer credit services to assist you.

As a new transfer student, you'll receive an evaluation of your transfer credits within a few weeks of your admission to UMBC.  This evaluation is called the Transfer Credit Report (TCR).  Built from the official transcripts sent to us by your previous institution(s), your TCR will list all your classes from your previous institution(s) attended, indicate whether or not each course is transferrable, and if any of your transferrable courses have direct equivalencies to UMBC classes.  In addition, your Degree Audit will indicate which of your transfer courses we've applied to our General Education Program (GEP) requirements.  You'll be able to see which of those requirements have been completed through previous coursework and which requirements you'll need to complete during your studies at UMBC.
