Program Overview

This popular program provides students the analytic and interpersonal skills needed to prepare them for a wide range of careers in psychology, social services, education, and business in both the public and private sectors.  The skills and information they learn about basic laboratory research can be translated into treatments, interventions, and policies that improve the quality of life.  In addition, the wide variety of upper-level courses address the guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association (APA) to prepare students to obtain relevant jobs and to continue on to graduate and professional programs.  Students are encouraged to participate in research and internships to enrich their academic experiences, to try out different areas of interest, and to provide a first step into the working world - learning practical skills and making important connections with professionals in the field.

Students of Psychology can pursue a general course of study, or, if interested, can choose from the following concentrations:

  • Human Services Psychology
  • Developmental Psychology
