M.P.S.: I/O PSYCHOLOGY

UMBC's Master's in Professional Studies (M.P.S.): Industrial/Organizational Psychology explores and integrates important topics such as personnel and selection, organizational behavioral management, human factors and culminates with a professional capstone experience. Our program enables students to develop a professional portfolio while building strong relationships with faculty practitioners and industry professionals. Based in Rockville, Maryland, the program offers evening, weekend, and select online courses for busy professionals.

Understanding the importance of communication, presentation and critical thinking skills, UMBC's M.P.S.: Industrial/Organizational Psychology covers the essential techniques and skills necessary for success in this field. Using best practices and industry/association partnerships, UMBC provides the latest technologies and knowledge that will put students in the midst of a dynamic organization either through applied work experiences or internship opportunities. 

B.A. POLITICAL SCIENCE

UMBC's Political Science program at Shady Grove prepares students for rewarding jobs in government, public service, law, and other careers. Undergraduates in this program have the opportunity to work with top-notch faculty while gaining a string academic foundation.

 

B.A. PSYCHOLOGY

This popular program allows undergraduates to work with internationally recognized researchers to conduct studies on current issues in the field of Psychology. Concentrations include Personnel and Industrial Psychology, Development Psychology and Human Services Psychology.

Our upper-division undergraduate Psychology program offers students invaluable opportunities that provide a strong foundation for careers in psychology, social services and other public sector professions.

B.A. SOCIAL WORK

Social workers are in high demand in the metropolitan area. Our program combines real-world applications with theory and technology to teach students the latest advances in the profession.

In addition to high quality classes, the Social Work program features a year-long applied field experience where students actively participate in the delivery of social work services. Our mix of theory, application and technology helps students excel no matter where their education or career may lead.
