Every fall semester, units within student affairs emphasize civic
engagement and encourage students, faculty, and staff to take action to
address social issues they and others face on-campus and in the
communities surrounding UMBC.
Student Judicial Programs (SJP), from November 23-December 11 will be sponsoring its 7th Annual Coat & Blanket Drive, also benefiting
Southwest Emergency Services. UMBC students, faculty, and staff are
encouraged to identify clean, usable coats, hats, gloves, or blankets
they wish to donate and bring them to the SJP office, located in the
Student Development & Success Center in between Chesapeake and
Susquehanna residence halls. In particular, students going home for
the Thanksgiving Break are encouraged to bring items back for
donation.
UMBC and Student Judicial Programs are partnering with the surrounding community to uplift and promote human flourishing. Although these are difficult economic times and we recognize that many within the UMBC family are struggling, we can and will get through it, working together.
