The UMBC Ice Hockey Club had their first 3 game series during the first weekend in October. On Friday, the team traveled up to New Jersey to face off against TCNJ. With ease, the club defeated TCNJ 12-0. Despite the convincing victory, the club turned around to host their first home games of the season at home against the St. Bernards of Siena on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, UMBC alternated goals with Siena through the 1st and 2nd quarter. Unfortunately, after a few costly penalties, Siena sneaked in a victory over UMBC 6-4. The Retrievers refused to lose to Siena for a second time on Sunday and sturred up a shooting rampage. With 7 goals, the Retrievers proudly crushed the St. Bernards 7-1.
The UMBC Ice Hockey club hope to continue their success in two upcoming games. They face off against Seton Hall on October 8th at 8:10pm and Virginia Tech on October 9th at 8:10pm. Go Retrievers!
