The UMBC Sport Club Program, a division of the Office of RecSports,
offers the campus community a wide variety of recreation, instruction,
and competition in 23 sports and activities. In addition, it
offers the campus an alternative to intramural, physical education,
and intercollegiate competition. Currently, the clubs provide
recreation to more than 600 students.
The level of competition varies for each club. Some clubs compete
on a national level, while others offer a more relaxed setting.
The Sport Club program plays an integral role in the educational
setting within the university. Participation in the program
gives the individual the opportunity to practice and participate
in organized physical activities, testing skill through competition
with clubs from other Universities.
The students' involvement in the program is designed to be
enjoyable and educational, while developing friendships and
new experiences as a result of participation. Participants
and club coaches should uphold high ethical and moral standards
while display of sportmanship, comradarie, and spirit are
highly encouraged.

Membership in the UMBC Sport Club program is open to students,
faculty, staff, and affiliated members. Persons interested in
joining a Sport Club must meet requirements set forth by the
program and the individual Club. Membership to all clubs is free
of charge to eligible persons.

The University of Maryland Baltimore County and the
Recreation program are not responsible for any injury
incurred or property lost by any participant in the
Sport Club program. Participants are encouraged to have
medical coverage when taking part in any recreation
activity.
