Textbook Ordering - Summer & Winter Faculty

Summer and winter faculty should contact the academic department administrators for textbook ordering assistance. Quantities ordered are determined by the course capacity.  Department chairs generally retain final approval for university course textbook selection.  Textbook desk copies can be ordered directly from the publisher.

Textbook Ordering - Professional Program Faculty

Course Expenses & Supplies
Instructional Expenses: Instructional expenses are costs directly related to teaching course content.  Special instructional expenses must be submitted to the necessary office in Continuing & Professional Studies for review and approval six months prior to the start of the class. Instructional expenses for summer and winter classes requires Special Sessions Policy Committee approval. 

Non-Instructional Expenses: The cost of equipment, maintenance, instructional materials, copying/reproduction, non-instructional personnel, (i.e., graders, lab technicians, administrative support) are provided by academic departments.  Contact the department administrator for assistance.

Copy Request: Large copy requests may be submitted to “Rapid Copy” a copying service located in the UMBC Bookstore.
