PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Centered on creating and evaluating performance-based preservice teacher education (interns) programs and sustainable professional development programs for teachers and administrators, the UMBC BCPS STEM project is designed to increase P-12 student achievement in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by increasing intern/teacher and administrator knowledge and confidence related to these areas. The STEM professional development model was developed to provide high quality teachers with skills and knowledge that will enable them to become “teachers of teachers”.
