Amber Dubin is a Chemistry major on the Pre-veterinary track in her
third year at UMBC. She first fell in love with anime in middle school
when she happened to turn on the TV @ 10:30 one Saturday night and the
opening theme for Inuyasha started playing after a black screen with
quirky
commentary and a picture of old people swimming. If you were watching
during the origins of Adult Swim you'd know that directly following that
episode was an episode of Cowboy Bebop and which effectively makes
further explanation unnecessary.
Due to her cynical/trollish nature, she was previously very particular
about the animes she'd keep up with/obsess over, but after attending
Anime
club meetings regularly since her first semester at UMBC she has gained a
much broader appreciation of the diverse forms of Japanese animation.
She has been introduced to some of her favorite animes through the UMBC
Anime Society and is hoping to use her influence this year to convert
UAS into a powerful student-fueled force that will continue to generate
anime lovers for years to come! (insert kukuku's here)
When she is not studying till she bursts into tears, Amber enjoys
singing, playing video games (especially Fable 2 and GTA 4), making
Amigurumi, and extinguishing flame wars on the internet with rabid fans
of the same anime/manga series that she is just as hypocritically
obsessed with as they are.
