UAS has a strict policy of abiding by the legal licensed standing of anime titles. If the title is licensed in the United States, we must have the legal, Region 1 copy of the title. This is not negotiable.
How can you tell if it's Region 1? Well, if you haven't already bought it, check the site. Most sites if not all list what region the DVD is designed for. Don't be tricked! DVDs listed for all regions are not the same as Region 1 DVDs. If you've already bought it and you're wondering if you got the right DVD, look for the company watermark! Here is an example!
If the title is unlicensed, you can bring it in whatever playable format you prefer! (For those curious, the officers have discussed the issue and decided to count titles "licensed" only on Crunchyroll as unlicensed until we're told we have to do otherwise.) We do ask however that you do your best to provide your titles in as good quality as possible, taking into consideration that we have to play it on large lecture hall screens. Don't worry, we know that not all titles are HD, so obviously we're not asking for that.
