Chess Section You Plan to Participate In
Four-round Swiss System (SS) in two sections:
Quick Rated Open, Unrated Novice. Everyone plays four games. Top players from Open advance to an Exhibition Match Playoff with move-by-move sports commentary. Players must bring their own regulation sets and clocks.
Quick-Rated Open Section:
4-SS. G/20 mins. USCF membership required. Trophies to top ten finishers, top individuals (elementary, middle, high), top schools (elementary, middle, high). Top four players, and anyone with a perfect score, advance to the playoff.
Unrated Novice Section:
4-SS. G/20 mins. USCF membership not required. Trophies to top ten finishers, top individuals (elementary, middle, high).
Unrated Playoff:
Single-elimination, G/10 mins. (2-sec delay), two games per match. Ties broken by 5 min. – 4 min. "shootout" in which white with 5 mins. must win.
