The UMBC College Democrats is a group of students dedicated to promoting the ideals of the Democratic Party and to providing opportunities for political activism at our university. We work to combat political apathy on our campus, to encourage college students to become involved involved in Democratic Party activities, and to raise awareness about the political process in general.
Who Can Join
Membership is open to students who wish to support the interests of or to learn more about the Democratic Party. All majors are welcome. Faculty, staff, and alumni are encouraged to participate. We welcome anyone regardless of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, ability, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation.
What We Do
The UMBC College Democrats provides opportunities for members to network and develop leadership skills through on- and off-campus events. We participate in rallies, parades, political campaigns, debates, and receptions. We host our own events that involve and educate the campus community. In addition, College Democrats creates opportunities for members and participants to socialize and have fun. Look for our events, and help us put the party back in party politics. |
