Just a reminder that we are having a movie night at Sam's apartment tomorrow at 7PM! Attention all team members: we would like to remind you that meetings are mandatory and you must attend 75% of meetings per semester. The meetings do not last the full hour so you should not have any conflicts with 1PM classes. Next meeting is Wednesday, November 4!

Anyone interested in going to Fair Hill International must contact Mara by Monday, September 14. If you are interested in getting a club jacket, contact Sam T. by Friday, September 18 at noon. The jackets are mandatory for all team members.

Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in UMBC's Equestrian Team at the interest meeting. Because there are more riders than expected, we will host mounted evaluations at Patapsco Horse Center on Friday, September 11 at 4:30 PM. Please dress to ride and bring a helmet if you have one. We will be completing the IHSA Membership Forms so please bring a check or cash for your fees. For more information, see the meeting agenda or contact Emily.

Any students interested in joining the club and competing in the IHSA must attend an informational meeting on Thursday, September 3 from 7-8PM in Commons 329. We also encourage you to stop by the club's booth at Involvement Fest on Wednesday, September 2 from 11-2. Hope to see you there! If you are planning on competing but cannot attend, you must contact Emily prior to the meeting to make other arrangements.

Congratulations to our new 2009-2010 officers! Emily Plitt is our President, Sam Toth is our Vice-President, Mara Laslo is our Treasurer, and Vicky Nguyen is our Secretary. Thanks for all your hard work! As a reminder for anyone who borrowed equipment from the club for the showing season: items must be returned at Friday's meeting! If you want to continue to use them, you must sign a form.

Equilibrium Horse Center is hosting a horse trial on May 3rd and they need volunteers-jump judges, timers, jump crew, and score runners. We are also planning on having a bake sale at the horse trials, so if you are free to just volunteer or just bake, or both, please RSVP to Mara Laslo. We will also be holding bake sales at Equilibrium's dressage shows on March 22 and April 19th. If anyone can make it out to Equilibrium on these days or bake something contact Mara Laslo.

If anyone is interested in attending Washington International Horse Show, the club is attending along with Patapsco Horse Center on Southern States Barn Night. This event is Thursday, October 23. If you want to attend, you must notify Sherri by Tuesday, October 21. IMPORTANT: Please note that the deadline to register for the IHSA has passed. If you did not contact Emily and submit your membership form, you cannot compete in the IHSA this year. However, we encourage you to still sign up for lessons to prepare for next year!

We will begin competing as a club with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association for the 2008-2009 school year! There will be an informational meeting and barn party on Friday, August 29 at 6PM at Patapsco Horse Center. We will be signing up for lessons and discussing important show information. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to visit our new barn, meet the Coach and each other! Feel free to bring friends and family; please RSVP so we know how much pizza to get! Also, if anyone is available to volunteer at the Involvement Fest on Wednesday, September 3 from 10:30-2 please let Emily know! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
