Club vests are now ready to order. The cost is $38 each. We will collect money and order the vests on Wednesday, November 16th. That will be a Team meeting; club members can just drop by to give us the money and your order during free hour in the Commons. Please make checks payable to UMBC Equestrian Club, or bring cash in an envelope with your name. If you need anymore information please contact Jen.

Just a reminder that our Pizza and Movie Night is tomorrow (Sept. 27th) from 6-9:30 PM in Terrace 433. It's currently a tie between Hidalgo and Black Beauty, so if you're planning on coming and you haven't voted please do so ASAP!

There is a Halloween Bash on Friday, October 28 from 6-8PM at PHC. Highlights include a horse and rider costume contest, prizes, games and goodies. This is open to all boarders and riders of PHC!

Kelly will be hosting a pizza and movie night in her apartment (Terrace apts, Sassafrass 433) on Tuesday, Sept. 27th from 6 - 9:30 PM. She's taking a vote on which movie we're going to watch (horse-themed movies only please)! Kelly's vote is for Black Beauty, but we'll watch whatever movie the most people want to see. Right now Black Beauty is in first with one more vote than Hidalgo. Please e-mail Kelly with the movie you'd be most interested in watching and whether or not you're coming (so we know how much pizza to get). If we have enough interest, we might make this a monthly thing and move it to the Commons, so if you don't get to watch the movie you want this time, we'll plan it for another movie night! See you all then!

Some of you still need to work out carpooling to lessons. If you need transportation, please e-mail Kelly with your name, phone number, and the times that you would be available to take a lesson (we recommend you put aside at least 2-3 hours for a lesson). Those of you that are able to give rides please provide your name, phone number and your current lesson time and we will try to pair you up with someone who needs a ride!

Thank you all for coming to the first club meeting of the semester; we had a great turnout! The next meeting for the club is on October 5th in Commons 328 from 12-1PM, and the first team meeting is on September 21st in Commons 328 from 12-1PM.

Don't forget to e-mail Hannah if you plan on attending the MD Hunt Cup on April 30th. Our next team meeting is Wednesday April 20th from 12-1PM in Commons 318. Our next club meeting (and the las for the semester!) is Wednesday, May 4th from 12-1PM in Commons 318. Also, we will be having a table at Quadmania this Saturday, April 16th, from 1-4 PM. Please stop by and help out if you can!

It's steeplechasing season! On Saturday, April 30 we will travel to Glyndon to watch the 115th running of Maryland Hunt Cup. We will carpool from UMBC around 11:00am and return after the races. We'll work out tailgating details after we get a better count on how many people will be joining us. Please RSVP to Hannah Wyper, at jv20219@umbc.edu, by April 18 in you are interested. For those who are interested in going to see Secretariat on Wednesday, November 10, the movie time will be about 8:20 PM and it's at RC Hollywood Cinema 4 in Arbutus. If you are a member of the Equestrian Club, your ticket will be
reimbursed, so it is free. If you want to bring a friend along, they will have to pay for their ticket ($7 with a student ID). If anyone needs a ride or can drive please let Kelly know ASAP. We're going to meet at the Child Care Lot at 7:50 to leave. We are looking for more people to drive.

We got a confirmation e-mail for our bake sale on Thursday, Nov. 18th from 11-2 in Commons Mainstreet. We are starting a sign-up list for those that can bake or who can staff the table. Please contact Kelly with your
availabilities/what you will be baking. If you can't be at the table but can bake something, let her know and she can pick it up beforehand.

Please send Sam your e-mail address and your most convenient contact phone number if you are comfortable with the information being given to the rest of the club. I would like to make up a contact sheet so that you all will have each others information to arrange rides to different events as well as lessons. Also, let Sam know if you are interested in participating in a clinic, such as grooming, braiding or bandaging. We have UMBC Equestrian jackets please let me know if you would be interested in ordering one. They run big so I would suggest that if you do want one you get the size smaller then you would regularly order.

Involvement Fest is this coming Wednesday (the 1st) from 11-2 on the Quad.
Our check-in time is 9:45 am. I can be there at 9:45 to check us in, but I have class from 10-11:50. It would be awesome if someone could meet me there at 9:45 and be there until at least noon. If people want to work in
shifts that would be good too. Also, if anyone is able to be at the table with me from noon-2, that would be awesome. Please e-mail Kelly with when you're available to be at the table.

I hope you all had an awesome summer! We will be having a Team Information Meeting on Friday, September 3rd from noon-1 in Commons 331. This meeting is primarily for those individuals who are interested in being on our show team for this school year. We will provide information about the team, and you will have a chance to meet and schedule lessons with our coach. The first Club Meeting is on Wednesday, Sept 8th from noon-1pm in Commons 328. We will be going over information about the team again during this
meeting, but the main focus of this meeting will be on providing information about the clubs and events we want to do. We are doing things a little differently this year. There will be two meeting each month, one for the club and one for the team. Dates are posted on the calendar!

Several important items: We are having a bake sale on March 25 and need volunteers to both bake goods and work the table. Please make time for this because the money is needed to fund the team. We are also working on a calendar to sell as a fundraiser so get your pictures to Sam. Thirdly, we are selling Avon products to raise money for the farm. New Student Day is April 10 and we need more volunteers for the table. We really need to promote the team and get our name out there! Lastly, please send Sam your contact information, including Name, preferred email and phone number. Thanks!

We are signed up for a bake sale on February 11 from 10:30-2 in the Commons by the bookstore. Please bake or buy something to contribute and get it to Sam before the bake sale!
