Congratulations to the team members for doing great in the first shows of the season! On Saturday, October 3, Karen and Kelly took 1st and 3rd in Beginner W/T/C respectively. Mara clinched 1st in Advanced W/T/C on Gambler. In the Novice Flat, Megan was 6th place on Paint. Emily and Checkers were 5th in Novice O/F. Returning Sunday, October 4, Kelly and Karen again both placed in Beginner W/T/C, coming in 2nd and 4th. Jen and Mara both competed in the Advanced W/T/C class and placed 4th and 6th respectively. In the W/T class, Christine was 3rd and Miranda was 4th. Emily and Yorktown were 4th in Novice O/F. Well done girls!UMBC Team

Congratulations to alumni Kelsey Wilkins and Heidi Brueckner for their recent successes in USEA hore trials. Kelsey and her youngster Cava were 11th at Marlborough and 12th at Loch Moy. Kelsey and the wonder pony Maddie were 12th at Marlborough. Heidi and her gelding Inquisitive (Q) were 2nd and 1st at Middleburg and Morven Park HT!

Congratulations to the team members again for great rides at the UMW IHSA show on February 21. Emily Plitt took 3rd in Novice O/F and 5th in Novice Flat. Sammy Solomon, Amber Myers and Sam Toth placed 3rd, 5th and 5th in their sections of Advanced W/T/C. Cortney Crouse, Mara Laslo and Jen Mohr had great rides and everyone enjoyed the wonderful facility and horses!

Congratulations to the team members for a job well done at the February 15 George Washington IHSA show! Emily Plitt brought home a blue ribbon in Novice O/F and was 3rd in Novice Flat! Samantha Toth also brought home a first in Advanced W/T/C and Mara Laslo took 5th in the same class. Jen Mohr placed 3rd in Beginner W/T/C.

Congratulations again to our advisor, Jill, Randles, and her 3-year-old, Hudson Street (Hudson)! He ended up finishing the 2008 year as Three Year Old Breeding Champion in Maryland, Virginia, and all of Zone III!

Congratulations to alumna Kelsey Wilkins for a successful move up to the Intermediate level with her amazing pony, Madeira (Maddie)! Kelsey and Maddie competed at Loch Moy on October 11 against some of the best professionals in the country, who were all about two hands taller!

Congratulations to our advisor, Jill Randles, for a great year with her 3-year-old, Hudson Street (Hudson)! He was best young horse at the Howard County and Maryland State Fairs, with placings at Warrenton and Maryland Horse and Pony. He is currently the top 3-year-old, non-TB in Maryland and is leading Zone III. Congratulations Jill!

Congratulations to all our team members for a successful first IHSA show! On October 4, the team headed to Mt. St. Mary's to compete against other local schools. After a little mistake disqualified Emily Plitt in her flat class, she went and took 2nd in Novice Over Fences. Cortney Crouse placed 5th in Novice Flat. In the Advanced W/T/C class, Sam Toth had some trouble after another rider was bucked off in front of her, but was given a re-ride and placed 6th! Amber Myers placed 5th. Jillian Dembek, Anna Lyons, and Jen Mohr placed 2nd, 2nd and 3rd respectively in their sections of Beginner W/T/C. All-in-all, everyone had a great time and made a fantastic introduction in the IHSA!

Congratulations to alumna Heidi Brueckner for a successful outing at the Oldenburg N.A. Inspections at Hilltop Farm on August 24. Her mare, No Doubts (Lady), was entered into the main mare book. Lady's colt, Redshift (Orion) was approved and branded with an overall score of 7.8. We look forward to seeing more of the little guy!

Congratulations to Jennifer Mohr for her blue ribbon at the Maryland State Fair. Jennifer and Diamond Dust Sparkles won the Western Equitation class on September 22.

Congratulations to alumna Kelsey Wilkins on her second place finish in the Preliminary division at Marlborough HT on September 20! Madeira (Maddie) rocked around the course and they are aiming to move up to Intermediate this fall!

Congratulations to alumna Heidi Brueckner and her horse Inquisitive (Q) for their fourth place finish in the N division at Loch Moy. Q has been laid up with injuries for almost a year now and they were both excited to get back out!
