Welcome to UMBC Kendo club

We are an officialy recognized Sport club at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Our club was created in order to teach and provide Kendo to the UMBC community. Our mentor dojo is Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo, where most of the instuctors are from. We are affiliated with South Eastern US Kendo Federation (SEUSKF) and All US Kendo Federation (AUSKF). Our club competes at tournaments regularly on top of hosting our tournament annually.

Joining

All UMBC students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join the club, but we only accept beginner students up until the 4th week of classes in the fall semester, and the 2nd week of classes in the spring semester in order follow the lesson plan. First time members should wear loose athletic clothing, preferably no jeans. All watches and jewelry should be removed prior to practice, club will provide shinais.
