Welcome

Hello students and welcome to the fall of 2009 and the start of a new academic year. We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer, and is off to a great start. We are looking forward to the start of Pre-Med Society events and meetings, and want to welcome current society members to a new year as well as any new members. Please refer to the meetings schedule on the left side of the page, and in the future be sure to check the events schedule for upcoming social and service work events. Again, we are excited at the prospect of what this year has to bring and we welcome everyone to the fall of 2009 and the start of a new year.

About Us.

Purpose and Aims:

-To provide enrichment for undergraduates seeking to enter the medical profession in the future, through exposure to a variety of opportunities in volunteer work, research, clinical shadowing, and other relevant experiences that will contribute to their personal and academic growth. In addition, the society wishes to establish an atmosphere of support and camaraderie between members, with an emphasis on upper-classmen guiding their younger peers.

Functions:

-To effectively guide members in their efforts towards a career in medicine

-To offer information about the diversity of organizations and causes with which student can become involved both on and off campus

-To enhance members' perspectives on the social and theoretical aspects that underpin health care; including but not limited to philanthropy, original research, and humanism

-To network various individuals with similar interests towards the greater collaborative good
