What We Do

We are all about making friends and going down the mountain with as many people as possible. Our club is open to all skill levels, all abilities, and all people. You're welcome to come along with us. We are a non-competitive sports club that is strictly dedicated to the pursuit of the absolute rush.

History

It all started when we realized there was NO Skiing and Boarding Club on campus. So...we (Shauna, Doug, and later Nathan) decided to take it upon ourselves to create one. Armed with only a brilliant idea and the power of our convictions, we went through all the proper channels to finally get the SBC (Ski and Board Club) recognized as an official club sport.

Who are we now?

The UMBC Ski & Board Club is an organization of UMBC Students who have come together to promote Skiing and Snowboarding to the UMBC Campus. The goal of the club is to introduce skiing or snowboarding to people who have never been, and, for those who have been, we want to help them continue to grow in the sport. In this fall season, we plan to hold regular trips to Ski Liberty, Ski Roundtop, and Whitetail to get as many people on the slopes as we can.
